What's the goal here?
Okay--what's the goal of Wolf Creek IDPA?
To be honest, our goal is to make every shooter in every match say "Well, I never did THAT before" about SOMETHING in SOME stage. Why do we care about that? Well, if you've done it once in competition withmoderate pressure, it might matter when you have to do it for real, for blood.
If you're gaming it--cool. We don't care. Game it. The big thing for us is that we're helping to make well rounded shooters with a vast level of experience--if you've shot a stage where you have to fall on your back, hey, you've done that at least once. If ya find yourself having to shoot on your back, looking into the sun--hey, you've done that. Belted in to a seat belt with a cover garment on? Same deal.
Is it training? It is not. You won't find us saying "Hey, your draw is kinda screwed up, there...try this..." unless you ask. training is correcting a bad habit or mistake. We do practice. We provide experience. And we do it in a fun way, meant to satisfy the gamer and the practical shooter.
So, we do about 1/3 tactical, 1/3 "Gamey", and 1/3 "Fun" stages. They'll be shorter, but they'll scratch your itch...and I'm looking for match directors...LOL
